Image through late January into early February 2024, this target was finished just in time for Valentines.
Commonly known as the Dolphin Head Nebula, or more formally SH2-308, this nebula is located just south of Sirius, the brightest star in the sky, in the constellation Canis Major (Big Dog)
A perpetual favourite to visit, this year I tried with the QHY268 and Antlia filters on the ED80.
I liked the wide field imaging of the Carina nebula so much that I just had to do a zoomed in version using the big boy scope – and it has exceeded all of my hopes !
