Saturn 6th June

This was the first test for the new 6″ (152mm) Ritchey-Chretien OTA while I waited for the stars to come out enough to start the alignment routines.  Started with the ASI120 at prime focus, then 2x barlow and finally 3x barlow.

It was just as well that focus adaptors are shipped with the OTA as all three were needed for the different magnifications.

While it was possible to increase the image scale, fine detail is still lacking at this point, probably a combination of aperture and seeing conditions as Saturn was still at low altitude at this point so more humid atmosphere in the lightpath.

Unfortunately the clouds rolled in t this point ending the session so no chance to test on the intended target – M20.
