This is the more detailed result of more imaging time on the Crab nebula over the Xmas and New Year period of 20/21.
Started in December 2020, this is my first imaging run at the Crab Nebula – M1
M8 imaged from backyard Lesmurdie in June 2020
First attempt at M83 from the new house in Lesmurdie
A revisit of this target on a night without cloud interference enabling better data collection.
Taken on 8th July, this was to be my first attempt at capturing M16 – the famed Eagle nebula ! Things didn’t quite work to plan however 🙁
After a drought of imaging opportunities it was finally time to try out the gear on M42 for the first time.
The first attempt at imaging M57, The ring nebula on 18 Sep 2015. The opportunity was taken to image this when it appeared from between trees in the middle of doing the pointing model for EQMod. Given that it is listed as +8.8 apparent magnitude and was in the worst quadrant for LP, I was sceptical of being able to pick it up, but it actually came through the LP OK due to it’s compact size.
The first attempt at M27, The Dumbell Nebula, imaged on 17th July 2015
